The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
for Undergraduate Studies (Issue II)
B.E. 2550 (2007)

For the significant improvement on the Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi for Undergraduate Studies B.E. 2548 (2005), and by virtue of clause 18(2) of the University Act B.E. 2541 (1998) and the University Council at the 103 th meeting on the 14 th Day of September B.E. 2550 (2007), the university has enacted the regulation as follows:
     
    Section 1  
This regulation is called “The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi for Undergraduate Studies (Issue II) B.E. 2550 (2007)”
    Section 2  
This regulation is in force commencing from the second semester of the academic year 2550 (2007).
    Section 3  
All existing regulations, provisions, announcements and orders in section 33 of the Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi for Undergraduate Studies B.E. 2548 (2005) are annulled and henceforth replaced by the following:
       
Section 33
  Transfer of credits
            33.1  
Students who want to transfer their program of study, as described in section 32, can use all courses and credits taken and transfer them into the new program of study under the approval of the dean and with the consent of the faculty committee.
            33.2  
Students who study in other institutions, both in Thailand and abroad, under joint degree program, academic exchange program or their own chosen-studies, with the approval of the faculty committee, can transfer courses and credits taken into the program of study at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
            33.3  
Students who terminated their student status according to sections 37, 39 and 40.2-40.12 of the Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi for Undergraduate Studies B.E. 2548 (2005) and re-enter to study in their former program of study can transfer the coursework and credits taken subject to the approval of the dean and the consent of the faculty committee.
                The criteria are as follows:
                33.3.1
The student status was terminated not more than 2 years from the date of approval of student status.
                33.3.2
The former courses taken for the transfer must be not lower than a score of ‘C’. The number of credits will be counted, but be calculated for grade point average.
                33.3.3
Students can not be granted any ‘honorable degrees’.
    Section 4  
All existing regulations, provisions, announcements and orders in section 34 of the Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi for Undergraduate Studies B.E. 2548 (2005) are annulled and henceforth replaced by the following:
        Section 34   Transfer of students from other institutions
            34.1  
The University may transfer students from other institutions both in Thailand and abroad under an equivalent academic standing. The transfer shall be conducted if the department/faculty agrees to accept the students under the approval of the dean and the consent of the faculty committee that hosts the program transfer.
            34.2  
The qualifications of students who submit the request of transfer are as follows:
                34.2.1
Having the qualifications as referred to in the Regulations of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on the Acceptance of Bachelor Degree Students B.E. 2548.
                34.2.2
Students have to transfer into the same program or equivalent program of the former institution or, otherwise, under the approval of the faculty committee.
                34.2.3
Students must be studying in the former institution and have had a study period of not less than 2 semesters, excluding the semester of taking leave.
                34.2.4
Students must earn a grade score of not less than ‘C’ or GPA of not less than 2.00 or equivalent on the courses to be transferred.
                34.2.5
The transferred credits must not be more than half of the total credits.
                34.2.6
The latest GPA score before the transfer should not be less than 2.00.
