The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
on Undergraduate Studies B.E. 2548 (2005)

For the well-arranged and efficient administration of the Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Undergraduate Studies, and by virtue of clause 18(2) of the University Act B.E. 2541 (1998), the University Council, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi at the 76 th meeting on the 11st Day of March B.E.2548 (2005), has enacted the regulation as follows:
     
   

CHAPTER 1

   

General Provisions

    Section 1  
This regulation is called the “Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Undergraduate Studies B.E.2548 (2005)’.
    Section 2  
This regulation comes into force commencing on the first semester of the academic year B.E. 2548 (2005).
    Section 3  
All existing regulations, provisions, announcements and orders relating to those promulgated in the regulation, or contrary to, or inconsistent with provisions of this regulation are annulled and henceforth replaced by those in this regulation. The annulment includes measures or regulations for undergraduate studies on the following issues:
       
(1) The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Undergraduate Studies B.E. 2537 (1994)
       
(2) The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Undergraduate Studies (Issue 2) B.E. 2539 (1996)
       
(3) The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Receiving Undergraduate Transferred Students from other Institutions B.E. 2531 (1998)
       
(4) The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Diploma Degree Grants B.E. 2541 (1998)
    Section 4   In this regulation,
        University means;  

King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.

        University Council means;  
the University Council, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
        Faculty means;  
faculty/office/institute which teaches undergraduate study programs of higher vocational certificate under King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
        Chairman means;  
the Chairman of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
        President means;   the President of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
        Student Discipline Committee means;  
the student discipline committee of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi .
        Dean means;  
dean of faculty which teaches undergraduate studies programs under King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
        Faculty Committee means;  
the faculty committee under the Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Faculty Committee.
        Program Regent means;  
chairman or regent of undergraduate programs in a case where there is no head or chairman of department.
        Advisor means;  
lecturers who are appointed to give advice to students.
        Students mean;  
persons who study in undergraduate study programs at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
        The Last Year Students of Programs means;  
students who study in regular programs and have a remaining number of credits not over 40 credits before graduation.
        Compulsory Activities means;  
the activities that the University stipulates students must attend.
        Higher Education Institutes means;  
higher education institutes affiliated under the Ministry of Education and education institutes abroad accredited by the Ministry of Education.
        Transfer of Credits means;  
a request for transfer of credits in the same level of study which a student has already studied at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. Its aim is to count as a part of study at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
        Transfer of equivalent credits means;  
a request for transfer of equivalent credits in the same level of study which a student had already studied at other higher education institutes accredited by the University. Its aim is to count as a part of study at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
        Transfer of knowledge, skills, and experience means;  
a request for transfer of knowledge, skills, and experience of students from non-formal education systems and/or an independent study to equivalent credits of study programs of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
    Section 5  
The President of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi oversees the applications under this regulation and is authorized to formulate regulations. The judgment of the president is considered final.
