The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Education Fees for International Students for Graduate Studies, B.E.2550 (2007)

The purpose is for the improvement of the Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Education Fees for International Students for Graduate Studies, B.E.2536 (1993).

By virtue of Article 18(2) of the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi Act B.E.2541 (1998), the University Council on its 105 th Meeting on the 9 th November B.E.2550 (2007) established the Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Education Fees for International Students for Graduate Studies as follows:

    Section 1
This regulation shall be called “The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi Education Fees for International Students for Graduate Studies, B.E.2550 (2007)”
    Section 2
The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Education Fees for International Students for Graduate Studies, B.E.2536 (1993) is repealed.
    Section 3
This regulation shall be enacted regarding international students at graduate study level initially enrolling from the second semester of the academic year B.E.2550 (2007) and after.
    Section 4
This regulation shall override all other regulations, rules, orders, declarations or other considerations that resemble or are in conflict with it.
    Section 5 In this regulation
      University means
King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
      President means
the President of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
      International Students means
non-Thai citizens who have been accepted to study in graduate studies at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
      Graduate Studies means
education which is higher than a bachelor degree.
    Section 6 Education Fees
     
6.1 Education fees to be collected in each academic year;
  6.1.1 Health and life insurance 2,000 baht
6.2 Education fees to be collected in each semester;
  6.2.1 Education Service Fee
   

Regular semester 30,000 baht per semester
Summer Session 15,000 baht per session

Credit fees for coursework/independent study/thesis
Social and Humanities

   

Regular semester 3,000 baht per credit
Summer session 6,000 baht per credit

  6.2.3

Credit fees for coursework/independent study/thesis
Social and Humanities

   

Regular semester 4,000 baht per credit
Summer session 8,000 baht per credit

  6.2.4
If credit fees for coursework/independent study/thesis for full fee programs are higher than the credit fees as in item 6.2.2 and 6.2.3, the rates of full fee programs shall be paid.
6.3 Education fees to be collected on variable occasions;
  6.3.1
The registration for a thesis examination or its equivalent paper
   

From 6 credits to not over 12 credits 10,000 baht
From 12 credits to not over 36 credits 15,000 baht
Over 36 credits 20,000 baht

6.4
Education fees for adding, changing, dropping or withdrawing coursework.
  6.4.1
Adding or changing of coursework in regular semesters can be done during the first two weeks after the start of each semester on dates and times set by the university. If students want to change coursework, such changes can be made. The university will not remit money and will not collect additional payment if the number of credits for the coursework to be changed to are less than or equal to those of the former registered credits. Students must pay additional payment for higher number of credits.
  6.4.2
The university will not remit money for dropping and withdrawing registration except if that coursework has been cancelled by the university.
    Section 7
Education fees and credit fees for coursework/independent study/thesis as in the above mentioned rate have been enacted for international students who study non-degree courses, except for exchange students under a cooperative agreement with the university.
    Section 8
Students who must study fundamental courses as required by the university, must pay education fees based on this regulation.
    Section 9
Students who complete all coursework as the program requires, but still work on experiments for a thesis or equivalent paper in the next regular semester or summer session, must pay credit fees for the thesis or equivalent paper – including education fees based on items 6.1-6.2 of this regulation.
    Section 10
Students must pay education fees within the period set by the University. The University will not remit money except when courses are cancelled by the University.
    Section 11
Rules and regulations according to this regulation are based on an announcement by the University.
    Section 12 The President shall govern the provisions of this regulation. The judgment of the President is considered final.
