The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on
Doctoral Degree Study for Part-Time Students, B.E.2547 (2004)

The purpose is offer opportunities in education for personnel in public and private sectors who wish to further their studies.

By virtue of Article 18(2) of the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi Act, including the University Council on its 70 th Meeting on the 10 th September B.E.2547 (2004), establishment of the Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Doctoral Degree Study for Part-Time Students, B.E.2547 (2004) is as follows:

     
    Section 1  
This regulation shall be called “The Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Doctoral Degree Study for Part-Time Students, B.E.2547 (2004)”.
    Section 2  
This regulation shall be enacted commencing in the academic year B.E. 2547 (2004).
    Section 3   In this regulation
        University means
King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
        President means
the President of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
        Doctoral degree study means
education management for a doctoral degree from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
        Program means
fields of study at a doctoral degree level which the University Council approves
        Students means
people who study part-time study for a doctoral degree at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi by registering to study as part-time students at the beginning of study
    Section 4   Doctoral degree study for part-time students means;
       
4.1
Study plan in the programs for which an average credit score throughout the program should not be more than 9 credits in a regular semester for a two-semester system
4.2
Students must register coursework for a doctoral degree of not less than 3 credits in each semester. This is except when the remaining credits for registration of the program are less than 3 credits, then registration of less than 3 credits can be made.
4.3
In summer sessions, students can register coursework for not more than 3 credits for a doctoral degree.
4.4
The maximum number of study periods should not exceed a time frame of over seven academic years.
    Section 5  
Duties and rights of students are based on the Regulation of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on Graduate Studies, B.E. 2541 (2004) or other later announcements or regulations/ rules/ orders/ declarations by King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi on that issue. The exception is for study plan, registration, and study periods, which come under items 4.2-4.4 of this regulation.
    Section 6  
The faculty/office/institute or equivalent can issue other announcements, but they must not be in conflict with this regulation.
    Section 7  
The President shall govern the provisions of the regulation. The judgment of the President is considered final.
